We stayed five nights at Lucky Dog with seven adults, two babies, and two dogs. We had plenty of space for sleeping, eating, and relaxing. The upstairs of the house has a main ensuite bedroom, a guest room with ensuite bath, and two bedrooms with a Jack and Jill bath. The apartment over the garage is still connected to the house, so it is separate but not isolated. It has a kitchenette and ensuite bedroom. The inside of the house is very attractive and comfortable and has lovely heart pine floors. We ate in the dining room and on the screened porch. The kitchen is large and equipped well enough to make a basic supper. We bought our own ice. The outside is the star of this house. It is secluded and peaceful, and the landscaping is beautiful. We spent a lot of time in the pool, which was very clean. A few pool floats are provided. We rented a boat from Yankee Point Marina and ate at Merrior one night. We will stay here again if we return to the Northern Neck

Lucky Dog was a really special place to vacation. It was peaceful and serene which was exactly what we needed. The house was well equipped for our group of cooks. We mostly stayed on the property because that’s the mood our group was in. We did venture out for groceries and fresh caught seafood which were easy to get to. The area was gorgeous with lots of wildlife. We spotted bald eagles and a fox. Communication was prompt and efficient. Our group had a wonderful time!

We booked Lucky Dog Luxury River House in Weems over Christmas and were absolutely thrilled with the property and the hospitality of hosts Tim and Amy. From ease of the self check-in to the very reasonable expectations for check-out, the Lucky Dog definitely fit the bill. The house itself is well-appointed and cozy (despite its large size) which made us feel as if we were staying in our own home. Everything was immaculate and the kitchen was one of the most well-stocked we have ever experienced in an AirBnB. The beds and bedding were comparable to a luxury hotel and each bedroom had plenty of space. The separate apartment over the garage was especially nice for providing privacy and seclusion. As it was winter, we were not able to experience the full splendor of the property — the pool, boat dock, grill, and large patio await our return in the summer. Given the proximity to Irvington and Kilmarnock, this is a fabulous option for families who want to visit the Northern Neck.
